Access Blocked Websites

In School, Colleges or at Offices, Many websites are Blocked/Restricted.

There are number of ways that a workplace can block sites, but for the most part it comes down to something very simple – blocking sites based on a site’s Address or Content.

A network administrator can do this on a per-PC basis with the Windows Host File, by changing browser options or by using third-party software.

This is the simplest way a company could block a website, and it’s usually used by small businesses that lack a proper IT department.

Medium to Large companies with a small IT department will usually block sites on the network level. That is, you wouldn’t be able to access a blocked site even if you took in your own computer and connected it to the network. Sites are likely to be blocked by not only their web address but also their IP address.

Large IT departments often go further by purchasing  An enterprise solution designed to restrict web traffic.  These products allow for the creation of custom access policies that can block sites based on content (by looking for certain keywords that are considered inappropriate).
They also include a custom user interface designed to make tracking web usage as easy as possible.

 A solution like this can easily lock down access to all websites and alert IT administrators the attempts to access blocked sites.

Different techniques and resources are used to bypass Internet censorship, including Cached web pages, Mirror and Archive sites, alternate DNS servers, ProxyServers , Virtual private networks, Sneakernets, and Circumvention software tools.

Those Blocked Websites can be accessed using Proxy Servers.
 You can find a Free Server on internet,  or You can use a paid Server.

There is a tool available, which connects to the proxy servers automatically & allows us to access Restricted Websites.

There are thousands of proxy sites on the web.
There are also sits that list proxy servers.

 Fact: 99.9% of them are blocked and the rest are going to be blocked by any decent filtering software.
 So you can host your own proxy with software like Glype proxy but for the most part they really don’t work too well.

               

One More Way: (It may not work everytime)

Passing the site through Google Translator.
Here’s the URL to use:

http://www.google.com/translate?langpair=en|en&u=www.blockedsite.com

(where blockedsite.com is the site that you wish to visit)
This translates the site from english to english and works because the ip address will appear as google instead of visiting website ip.

Sometimes using the https://  Protocol also opens up the website, Since it is encrypted and harder to block.
